2023 has been a busy year at RALIANCE, but as we head into fall, we want to introduce you to a newer member of our team, Project Coordinator Julia Mallory. We’ll allow her to tell you more about herself:

RALIANCE: How will this role help serve RALIANCE’s clients and stakeholders?

Mallory: In my role, I will support my colleagues by strengthening the tools and resources we utilize through standardization, which ensures that we are efficient and effective in serving the needs of our clients and stakeholders. In addition, I am interested in how each area of focus for our team aligns with our overall mission and vision of ending sexual violence.

RALIANCE: What is some of the work you’ve done prior to joining RALIANCE?

Mallory: The majority of my professional experience has been in public and community health, including serving as the executive director for a mental health advocacy organization. These roles have been centered in raising awareness and connecting people with the support they need to live well through community outreach, community development, and promotion via marketing, advertising, and public relations.

RALIANCE: What are you most looking forward to in joining the team?

Mallory: I’m excited to work more closely with the RALIANCE grantees and continue to amplify the important work they are doing across the country.

RALIANCE: What inspired you to want to work towards creating safe environments and ending sexual violence?

Mallory: This feels like a critical and expansive time in the movement and it feels exhilarating to be aligned with a national organization that is taking a unique approach to create safe environments and end sexual violence.

RALIANCE: What are you currently reading?

Mallory: I’m finishing up Why Willie Mae Thornton Matters by LynnĂ©e Denise – a truly compelling tale of a brilliant blues woman whose career was rife with inequitable treatment in the music industry.
