Sexual Violence Prevention Project
Guam Coalition Against Sexual Assault & Family Violence in Hagatna, Guam expanded mandated comprehensive age-appropriate sexual abuse prevention curriculum into private school settings. GCASAFV also implemented its Project STAR (Strengthening Teens Awareness & Resources), integrated Safe Dates curriculum and engage youth as peer advocates.

Enhance Partnerships
GCASAFV partnered with several area private schools: Academy of Our Lady of Guam, Notre Dame High School, Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School, Saint Anthony Catholic School, Santa Barbara Catholic School, Saint Francis Catholic School, Mount Caramel Catholic School, San Vicente Catholic School, and Dominican Catholic School.

Provide Resources
GCASAFV shared its comprehensive age-appropriate sexual abuse prevention curriculum with private schools. GCASAFV implemented prevention programming with older students including Project STAR (Strengthening Teens Awareness & Resources) and Safe Dates, and engaged youth as peer advocates.

Educate & Train
GCASAFV trained 193 school personnel on the Sexual Abuse Prevention Curricula (SAPC) with 7 Catholic Elementary Schools and 4 Day Care Centers. Project STAR sessions were implemented at 2 (Catholic) high schools and 2 middle schools.
Their original goal was to train 75 elementary school teachers, 4 schools and 2 control schools with minimum of 10 students participating in 6-week, 90-minute weekly sessions.

Measure Impact
GCASAFV captured pre and post evaluations of participants showing the success of the curriculum.
