IMPACT (Athletics. Equality. Change.)
Men As Peacemakers in Duluth, MN expanded its IMPACT Program (Athletics. Equality. Change.). They published an IMPACT Implementation Manual to assist decision-makers in effectively incorporating sexual violence prevention in ways that are relevant and useful to athletic organizations; and expanded IMPACT Coaching resources through a training and trainer’s guide for pre-kindergarten and early elementary-aged athletics programs.

Strengthen Policies
MAP assisted youth athletic clubs incorporate sexual violence prevention policies into their organizational practices. For instance, Winona Youth Soccer Association in Minnesota adopted MAP’s prevention language, policies, and procedures.

Enhance Partnerships
MAP partnered with The Improve Group to evaluate the project as well as Arrowhead Youth Soccer Association, Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, Minnesota Youth Athletic Association, and Winona Youth Soccer Association for implementation.

Build Champions
The IMPACT expansion was specifically geared to build a network of MN youth coaches to create a state-wide initiative that incorporates sexual violence prevention. IMPACT materials have the potential to impact 50,000 MN households and 11,000 coaches.

Provide Resources
MAP devleoped the Administrator’s Toolkit and created an interactive IMPACT website.

Educate & Train
The project reached 175 coaches of 6-8 year olds and 150 coaches of 10-14 year olds in the project year.

Measure Impact
The Improve Group assisted in creating pre and post evaluation surveys. MAP also hosted focus groups with the four partners.
