As we close out an eventful 2023 and look ahead to 2024, we asked some of our RALIANCE colleagues to share their outlook on the new year to come.
RALIANCE Project Manager Tori VandeLinde discussed goals for RALIANCE as we enter 2024, reiterating that our “goal is always to promote culture change to create equitable, respectful, and safe environments. We know culture change takes a long time and isn’t a one-time act. Our goal for the coming year is to continue this journey for culture change, to support our clients and partners on their journey, and to share helpful new tools and resources with the sexual violence prevention movement.”
RALIANCE Policy Director Terri Poore provided a sense of legislative areas to watch in the upcoming year, including follow-up from a recent Senate hearing on sexual assault and harassment at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and expected updates to Title IX rules.
RALIANCE Corporate Research Associate Megan Owens said that she is excited about the prospects of expanding RALIANCE’s work. She shared that in 2024, RALIANCE will have some exciting new projects “that will enable us to reach more businesses and communities with our tools.” Additionally, Megan is excited to attend next year’s National Sexual Assault Conference in Washington, DC.
We’re excited for all that’s to come in 2024, including a new tranche of grantees, industry conferences on sexual violence response and prevention, and tools to help more organizations recognize and combat sexual harassment, misconduct and abuse. We’re grateful to our partners and readers for following our journey and supporting our vision to create equitable, respectful and safe environments. Wishing you a safe holiday season and we look forward to an even better 2024!
