Hello readers – during Thanksgiving, many across the country had the time to pause and be thankful for all that they have in their homes, families, and communities. But on Giving Tuesday, we turned our attention outward to focus on the needs of others.
Here at RALIANCE, we hope that the spirit of giving will extend throughout the entire holiday season, particularly toward organizations that work with survivors of sexual harassment, misconduct and abuse. Such organizations need support now more than ever as the pandemic continues to deeply challenge providers for survivors, such as rape crisis centers.
Through our impact grants, RALIANCE has strived to play our own role in giving back, in partnership with the National Football League. We thank our grantees for supporting survivors and creating safer and more inclusive communities all year round. We hope you consider learning more about our grantees and supporting them during this holiday season, including:
• The Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence, which pursued a RALIANCE grant project focused on developing a prevention program for youth in the juvenile criminal system. You can donate here.
• The National Organization of Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault, with a grant project focused on safe housing for survivors of color. You can donate here.
• Hollaback, with a grant project focused on launching a bystander intervention program. You can donate here.
• The YWCA of Southern Arizona, with a grant project focused on building a bilingual program aimed at preventing sexual and domestic violence. You can donate here.
• The Arab-American Family Support Center, with a grant project focused on supporting New York City youth, particularly in terms of building healthy relationships. You can donate here.
If you’re looking for a broader list of organizations to support, or are looking for one focused on a particular type of project or cause, you can review RALIANCE’s full list of grantees here. During the holidays, we are constantly reminded of everything for which we are grateful – if we work together and support organizations pushing for change, we can add to that list a future that allows everyone to live with dignity. Â
